Small Spaces, Big Hearts
Robert and Marcia were long-lost lovers reunited after over 30 years. Robert moved into Marcia’s home in Denver, CO and they decided to remodel the basement to give more space to the home. They knew going in that it would be a tricky space because of its size and age, the home is over 100 years old. I was able to come up with a space plan that opened up the space for them with a new doorway to the den. By creating more architectural details, such as niches at the bottom of the stairs and a larger window in the bedroom, we were able to enhance the space to its fullest potential. While I provided the design to them with future remodel plans in mind, most of the finishing work fell on Robert who is very handy.
Knowing the love these two share for one another, I was grateful to work with them and help provide a design that will enhance their future together.
“The process of working with Erin went very smoothly. As a couple, we have very different ideas about design, likes, and dislikes. Erin picked up on this and came up with ideas and solutions, which presented great compromises and solutions. Many of these ideas were far outside of anything we had dreamed of before our consultation with her. We are absolutely, incredibly pleased. “
