Interior Design Process
Step 01.
Consult & Document
It is always recommended to begin each project with an initial consultation to decide if Much Love Interiors is the right fit for the job. If the client and designer decide to move forward, the measurements and photos of the existing space will be documented as an as-built in Revit.
Step 02.
Determine the Needs
An in-depth strategic process and questionnaire allows Much Love to catalog the needs / wants of the client. If remodel is involved, the designer will walk the project with any necessary collaborators (ie. project managers, engineers, etc…) to make sure the concept can be built properly / safely.
Step 03.
Concept Presentation
Presentation styles can vary depending on the project. In most cases, sketches, mood boards ( color palette / textures / finishes), and rough floor plan will be presented. At this stage nothing is final and the designer and client will work collaboratively towards the next step in the process.
Step 04.
Design Options
The designer further develops the concept, after approval, into in-depth design options. This step will include detailed floor plans. Collaboratively client and designer will select the plan that suites their needs and refine the design with material / finish selections
Step 05.
Manage the Budget
Once design features and plans are finalized, the next step will be to work on the construction drawings and final pricing. Much Love Interiors will work in tandem with the Project Manager in this phase to get an accurate price and buildable design blueprints.
Step 06.
Construction Phase
Periodically, Much Love Interiors will visit the site to be sure the construction is going smoothly and the design is coming to life properly. Depending on the client’s availability, these meetings can be held with or without their presence. Towards the end of construction, a Punch Walk will be conducted for final items to be completed.
Step 07.
Here for Support
Your Project Manager should walk you through the next steps of operation in the newly built space. If this is not done, your design advisor will assist in this process. Much Love Interiors wants you to feel supported and have your project go smoothly and stress-free as possible.
Step 08.
Project Completion!
You made it – congrats! Much Love Interiors strives to provide a positive design & construction experience. The client’s feedback is valued immensely. An outtake form will be requested as well as a review to provide honest feedback to help us grow.
Feng Shui Process
Step 01.
Schedule Your Consult
For every Feng Shui project, the client will sign up for the service and select a time that works best for their consultation via online Zoom video meeting.
Step 02.
Client Homework
Next, the client will fill out the intake form, and document their space with photos as well as a hand-drawn floor plan. They will send this information along with the traditional 9 red envelopes.
Step 03.
Feng Shui Consult
During this 1 hour video call, your Feng Shui practitioner will review your intake form and floor plan with you. Adjustments will be offered to help align the chi or energy of the space.
Step 04.
Written Summary
Your Feng Shui practitioner will provide a written summary of the consultation, the next steps, and the client’s Nine Star Ki.
Step 05.
Follow Up
A follow-up call can always be requested (at an additional cost) if the client has further questions on their Feng Shui consultation.

FAQs
What does an interior designer do and why should I hire one?
An interior designer takes the goals, needs, and desires of a client and comes up with a plan and concept for what the space could be. Using a variety of mediums from sketching and mood boards to drafting and 3D renderings, an interior designer helps the client visualize their future space. An interior designer also understands the importance of materials, products, specifications, and construction codes in order to bring the concept to life.
What's the difference between an interior designer vs. decorator?
An interior designer will understand the architecture and psychology of an interior space. Bringing in colors, textures, lighting, finishes, materials, and architectural details. The decor, while important to the finishing touches of a space is like the cherry on top of the interior design.
What type of projects does Much Love Interiors work on?
Residential, Small Commercial, and BTB Feng Shui.
Can you manage the entire project?
A project manager will need to be hired. A recommended by Much Love Interiors to complete the entire process (design and construction). Much Love Interiors will be the client’s liaison throughout the process but does not have the qualifications to complete a construction project.
What is BTB Feng Shui?
Feng Shui translates to Wind and Water. At its core, Feng Shui is meant to bring harmony to people’s chi (energy) and their environments using mundane (physical) and transcendental (metaphysical) adjustments.
Example: Mundane (physical) Adjustment – Face your desk towards the doorway / entry to create a more productive work environment.
BTB Feng Shui, also known as Black Sect Tantric Buddhist Feng Shui, was brought to the United States by His Holiness Grandmaster Professor Lin Yun, but the tradition and lineage goes back thousands of years in Taoist teachings.
Why should I care about BTB Feng Shui?
There is no Feng Shui school of thought that is wrong. All must be respected for their lineage and tradition. BTB Fend Shui offers mundane (physical) and transcendental (metaphysical) adjustments that can be used for any space, person, or object to help uplift the chi (energy) and best support all people using the space.
Our internal and external environments are interconnected. This means that our chi impacts our spaces as much as the chi of the space impacts us.
As a Feng Shui practitioner, Much Love Interiors will provide the best advice for the chi of your space and what you are looking to achieve.
Is Feng Shui and interior design the same thing?
Simply put, no. Good interior design can create terrible Feng Shui and good Feng Shui is not necessarily good design.
Understanding how both can support each other is part of the goal for any Much Love Interior’s project.
Why are separate services offered for Feng Shui versus Interior Design?
Not all design clients will seek out a Feng Shui consultation. However, it is always recommended if Much Love Interiors sees it as a potential benefit to the client.
What if I don't feel comfortable showing you my disorganized space?
That is okay – Much Love Interiors is here to help!
Your interior design advisor would rather see your space, and how you use that space, in order to understand your needs and the ways your environment can better support you.
Why should I hire Much Love Interiors?
